Position Overview

As part of our Global Network Operations Center (NOC), you will provide first-level monitoring and support for enterprise customer networks. Your primary focus will be proactive monitoring, initial troubleshooting, incident triage, and timely escalation to higher-level support teams.

This role requires networking fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures in a 24/7 environment. You will work closely with Level 2/3 engineers and external providers to support reliable and secure network operations.


Key Responsibilities

Network Monitoring & Initial Troubleshooting

  • Monitor network infrastructure using enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, LogicMonitor, Cisco DNAC, or similar).
  • Perform initial checks on network devices and services (e.g., interface status, device reachability, VLANs).
  • Identify potential issues such as connectivity loss, latency, or service degradation and gather relevant information.
  • Document findings and prepare incidents for escalation when needed.


Incident Management & Escalation

  • Log, update, and manage incidents and service requests in ticketing systems.
  • Perform first-level triage based on documented procedures and troubleshooting guides.
  • Escalate incidents to Level 2/3 teams or external providers in line with SLAs.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams, end-users, or on-site staff when required.


Operational Compliance & Documentation

  • Follow standard operating procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
  • Ensure accurate and complete ticket documentation.
  • Contribute to knowledge base updates for recurring issues.
  • Support reporting on incidents, trends, and SLA adherence when required.


Shift-Based Work

  • Work in a 24/7 rotating shift environment.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring and timely response to network events.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs).
  • Familiarity with LAN/WAN concepts and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of how to follow structured processes and troubleshooting steps.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and in a shift-based environment.


Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Cisco technologies (e.g., Catalyst switches, basic routing concepts).
  • Familiarity with monitoring or ticketing tools (e.g., Splunk, LogicMonitor, ServiceNow).
  • Awareness of enterprise environments or NOC operations.
  • Cisco CCNA (or willingness to obtain certification within 12 months).
  • Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
