Vernovis is looking for a DevOps Engineer that will serve as a key technical member of our clients’ Enterprise Process Management (EPM) team, responsible for automation, deployment, environment management, and lifecycle execution of platforms and applications within the EPM portfolio. This role ensures EPM solutions are consistently deployed, patched, upgraded, and supported in alignment with enterprise DevOps standards, security controls, and operational best practices. Embedded within the EPM organization, the DevOps Engineer collaborates closely with Enterprise DevOps/Platform Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and application teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. This individual operates with minimal supervision, exercises sound technical judgment within established standards, and proactively communicates progress, risks, and escalations to leadership as appropriate.

What You'll Do

DevOps Automation & Delivery

Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for EPM platforms and applications.

Automate application and middleware deployments across development, testing, and production environments.

Ensure adherence to enterprise DevOps standards, security controls, and change management processes.

Middleware & Platform Lifecycle Management

Plan and execute IBM platform upgrades, fix packs, and compatibility validations (e.g., BAW, CMOD, CM8, WebSphere/Liberty).

Manage domain-specific middleware dependencies and stateful runtime configurations.

Ensure platform currency and lifecycle compliance with enterprise policies.

Environment & Configuration Management

Maintain configuration consistency and environment parity across DEV, QA, UAT, and PROD environments.

Operational Support & Reliability

Monitor application and middleware health using enterprise monitoring and logging platforms.

Support incident triage, root cause analysis, and remediation activities.

Perform scheduled system maintenance and patching activities.

Maintain operational documentation, deployment runbooks, and technical standards.

What You'll Have

3–5+ years of experience in Windows and Linux server administration and support.

3–5+ years of experience with HTTP server installation, administration, and support (IIS, Apache).

Demonstrated knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) concepts, including Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and DevOps practices.

Proven experience automating manual processes and developing scripts to support deployment activities.

Demonstrated experience managing deployments using Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms.

Proven experience building and managing deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps or similar systems.

Demonstrated knowledge of Active Directory and LDAP.

Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and supporting WebSphere (Traditional and Liberty).

Proven experience using scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.

Demonstrated experience working with infrastructure technologies, including network, compute, and storage platforms.

Demonstrated knowledge of managing and troubleshooting Enterprise Process Management (EPM) systems (BAW, FileNet, CMOD, CM8, Navigator).

Proven ability to work effectively as a contributing team member in a complex technical environment.

Demonstrated ability to support project planning, coordinate dependencies, and deliver work within established timelines.

Proven verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

Proven customer service skills and professional behaviors.

Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause identification and resolution planning.

Proven ability to adapt to complex environments and organize work to achieve timely results.
