Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, and proactive Accountant to join our team in Riga. The Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, supporting group-wide accounting processes, and contributing to compliance with international and local standards.
This role offers exposure to IFRS, local GAAPs, and group consolidation processes, as well as the opportunity to work in a dynamic international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices for multiple legal entities within the Group in line with company policies and local tax requirements.
- Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with travel & expense policies.
- Perform reconciliations with vendors, resolve discrepancies, and manage supplier balances.
- Carry out customer account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations and resolve variances.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes in compliance with Group accounting policies, IFRS, and applicable local GAAP requirements.
- Assist with audits, reporting and ad-hoc projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across international markets.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to internal controls.
Key Metrics for Success
- Accuracy of Reporting: ≥ 98% accuracy in reconciliations and financial statements.
- Timeliness: On-time completion of monthly close, reporting deadlines, and audits.
- Compliance: Zero significant audit findings or compliance breaches.
- Efficiency: Ability to manage multiple entities and tasks with minimal errors.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from internal teams, auditors, and management.
- Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated implementation of at least 1 process improvement initiative annually.
- Data Quality: Consistent, error-free financial data provided for tax and regulatory reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analysis, Math, or Engineering.
- Proven experience in accounting, or group audit roles.
- Solid skills in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with, SAP/S4HANA, or similar consolidation/ERP systems is a plus.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- High attention to detail and strong time management skills, able to perform under pressure.
- Proactive problem-solver, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.
