Job Summary
Cogency Inc. is seeking a skilled React JS Frontend Developer to build modern, responsive, and high-performing web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in React, frontend architecture, and UI performance optimization, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive web applications using React JS
- Build reusable, scalable, and high-quality UI components
- Implement state management and optimize application performance
- Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs
- Collaborate with backend developers, designers, and QA teams
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve UI/UX issues and performance bottlenecks
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design
- Contribute to UI/UX improvements and frontend architecture decisions
- Maintain clean, well-documented, and testable code
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development
- Strong hands-on experience with React JS (components, hooks, lifecycle)
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with state management (Redux, Context API, or similar)
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs
- Strong understanding of responsive design and UI best practices
- Experience with Git or similar version control systems
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with TypeScript
- Familiarity with modern frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, etc.)
- Knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Work Model
- Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite in Calgary
- In-person interview is mandatory in Calgary or Montreal
