Your Contribution And Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, authoritative, and timely strategic advice to the Chief HR Officer, Director-General, Deputy Directors-General, and other senior management on issues of a complex and sensitive nature pertaining to human resources, employee grievances and discipline, industrial relations, enterprise bargaining, safety health and wellbeing.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with relevant industrial unions, the Public Sector Commission, Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, and all internal stakeholders.
  • Represent the department's interest with external service providers to ensure the provision of critical services to the department eg payroll.
  • Continually assess stakeholder needs and preference and translate insights into actionable strategies that build effective partnerships with client groups and senior executives.
  • Formulate and prepare submissions and briefing papers of a complex nature and negotiate recommendations at the executive level on strategies, policies and practices.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the team by promoting and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure effective management of human, financial and physical resources.
  • Oversee the delivery of operational programs of work in Human Resources Partnerships, Data Systems, Industrial Relations, Workplace Health and Safety and Workforce Engagement - aligned to the department's strategic priorities.
