Power BI Expert
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Engagement Status: Full-time / Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Approximately 3 months with possible extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Power BI expert within the global HQ financial reporting team.
- Design and deliver high‑quality Power BI dashboards with strong performance and usability.
- Support the migration from SAP BI / Excel to Power BI across global reporting.
- Translate requirements into functional Power BI solutions for finance stakeholders.
- Coach and upskill a young team on Power BI best practices, visualisation, DAX and performance.
- Work closely with the IT/data warehouse partner (Fabric Data Warehouse) to challenge and guide data model design.
- Provide training and support to users on dashboard usage and interpretation.
- Collaborate with finance teams and stakeholders across the organisation, building strong working relationships.
Hard Skills:
- Minimum 5 years' hands-on Power BI experience.
- Strong skills in: Power BI dashboard design / DAX (measures, time intelligence) / Performance optimisation
- Data modelling concepts (star schema, relationships – IT handles modelling, but understanding is required)
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Fabric, Azure, SQL-based data warehouses).
- Proven background in BI, reporting or analytics roles.
Soft Skills:
- Strong coaching and mentoring ability to guide a young team.
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain technical concepts simply.
- Confident working with IT partners, challenging decisions when needed.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
- Solution‑oriented, collaborative, and comfortable in a fast‑paced contract environment.
Education & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
- Proven track record working with global teams and complex organisations.
- Power BI experience in a financial reporting environment is preferred.
