Job Description

As a Network Engineer at NOV, you will work on the development of advanced machine control systems for crane and lifting equipment used in some of the world’s most demanding offshore and subsea operations. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of the solutions—from design and development to testing, commissioning, and further development.

With us, you will become part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers working on future solutions within digital services, automation, hydraulics, electrical, and instrumentation, where collaboration and quality are top priorities. You will work with high-tech products, modern design tools, and develop professionally through varied and exciting projects.

We are seeking candidates in three different locations – Kristiansand, Molde, and Trondheim.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in and develop digital solutions, network configurations, and cloud services
  • Further develop cybersecurity for control systems in accordance with IEC 62443
  • Contribute to the development of control systems for cranes and lifting equipment
  • Prepare necessary documentation within your area of responsibility
  • Provide technical support to our aftermarket department
  • Some travel activity should be expected

Qualifications

  • Technical college, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in IT or automation-related fields. Relevant work experience may compensate for lack of formal education
  • Deep understanding of network configuration
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity for both IT and OT; IEC 62443 CSF certification is an advantage
  • PLC competence is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Practical and analytical, with a commercial approach to problem-solving
  • Strong planning skills, able to work independently and collaborate across disciplines
  • Good communication skills in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written
  • Experience from the offshore or maritime industry will be valued

We offer

  • An exciting role in a leading technology company
  • Technical challenges and varied tasks with a high degree of autonomy
  • A strong professional environment with experienced colleagues
  • Good development opportunities within innovation and new technology
  • Flexible working hours and competitive conditions

We are committed to promoting diversity and equal opportunities. We therefore encourage all qualified candidates to apply – regardless of gender, age, cultural background, disability, or belief
