We are now recruiting a People & Organisation Generalist - Retail, to join the dynamic People and Organization team. This role will be based in the field working directly with the Fashion, Watches and Fine Jewellery and Fragrance and Beauty divisions.

This position is a 18 month Fixed Term contract.

The People & Organisation Generalist - Retail is the first point of contact for our retail teams across our Fashion, Watches & Fine Jewelry, and Fragrance & Beauty Boutiques. You are at the heart of our people experience, providing expert guidance and support on all people related matters in a multi-site environment.

As a trusted advisor, you partner closely with retail leaders to foster an engaging, supportive, and high-performing environment. You balance day-to-day HR operations with proactive partnership and support for our retail leaders. By building trust and strong relationships, you empower our teams and leaders to effectively navigate people challenges in the field.

Your expertise and knowledge of the HR landscape allow you to anticipate needs and support the Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs), advising on solutions to mitigate risk and support the business. You bring a forward-thinking, future-focused strategic perspective to our people agenda - ensuring our retail teams are equipped to deliver exceptional client experiences and strong business results.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?


  • Partner with Retail Leaders and teams on all employee relations matters by acting as the trusted advisor and coach, ensuring alignment with Chanel’s best-practice policies and procedures.
  • Guide Retail Leaders through performance management, grievance management (including investigations, consultations, and mediations) to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant resolution of workplace issues. The ultimate goal is to equip the retail leaders with the capabilities in managing employee relations.
  • Conduct or support workplace investigations where appropriate and in particular the cases that call for a formal resolution process, upholding Chanel’s culture of collaboration, mutual accountability, and respect in all interactions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for day-to-day HR queries and provide timely, practical and compliant advice in line with Chanel’s policies and processes.
  • Drive a culture and behaviours consistent with Chanel’s Leadership Attributes and Vital Behaviours, acting as a role model.
  • Support the HRBP with the execution of key people initiatives, projects and cyclical HR activities for the retail population.
  • Advise and coach on Injury Management, Workers Compensation Claims, return-to-work processes and queries related to the General Retail Industry Award (GRIA), ensuring all points of sale remain compliant with legislative requirements.
  • Act as a feedback channel between retail teams and HRBPs, surfacing insights and trends from the field to support the development and execution of action plans and people focused strategies.


What You Will Bring


  • At least 3 years of experience in a HR generalist role, in a similar industry
  • Sound working knowledge of employment legislations (FWA, NES, GRIA, WHS) and the ability to interpret these in a retail environment
  • Bachelor in Human Resource/Marketing/Business/Psychology.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to achieve goals, around business and people performance,
  • Positivity, strong influencing skills, and the ability to collaborate transversally.
