100% Remote Senior Backend Engineer Job!!

Akkodis is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer – SQL & C# to support a fully remote, modern SaaS organization dedicated to transforming the world of technical training. This engineer will play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining Azure SQL environments while partnering closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration between the database, application architecture, and DevOps practices. This role requires deep expertise across SQL, C#, Entity Framework, database performance, and cloud-based engineering.

Pay/Salary Range: $125,000/year to $150,000/year. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, DBA, or database-focused software engineer.
• Deep experience with Azure SQL, relational modeling, and cloud-based database management.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, Entity Framework, LINQ, and debugging ORM-related performance issues.
• Advanced SQL development skills including query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and Agile development environments.
• Proficiency automating tasks with PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tooling.
• Experience with database monitoring tools such as Datadog or Azure Monitor.
• Understanding of security and compliance requirements for Azure SQL environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.

Preferred

• Experience designing HADR strategies for cloud or hybrid SQL environments.
• Exposure to advanced performance‑tuning patterns within Entity Framework.
• Hands-on experience optimizing cost, performance, and scalability in Azure SQL.
