Full Stack Software Engineer - Payments & Card Services
We are looking for a passionate software engineer with solid development experience and a hands-on mindset. As a full stack engineer, you will work in an international environment within small, cross-functional teams alongside business stakeholders, UX designers, and product owners to build next-generation banking applications in the payments domain.
Your Environment
You will join a modern engineering organization where development follows a shift-left approach. Applications are built using Java-based microservices and deployed via CI/CD pipelines to containerized cloud platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes) as well as legacy Linux environments that are being phased out.
You will work on a Debit & Credit Cards Transactions product, focusing on improving customer control over balances and repayments, as well as enhancing real-time notifications for declined transactions. At the same time, large-scale migration of legacy card systems to a new platform is ongoing.
Systems are designed with scalability, resilience, and reusability in mind, supporting multiple countries and currencies.
- Design, build, and enhance backend (and occasionally frontend) applications
- Work in autonomous, stream-aligned teams delivering end-to-end solutions
- Collaborate with internal consumers and stakeholders
- Contribute to scalable, reusable, and high-performing services
- Support and mentor team members while continuing personal development
Technology Stack
- Backend: Java, Spring Boot, Maven, Kafka, Cassandra, Oracle
- Frontend (nice to have): Web Components (Lit HTML), NPM
- DevOps: Azure DevOps (or similar), Helm, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker, Linux
- Testing: Automated testing, WireMock, CI/CD pipelines
- 6+ years of backend development experience
- Strong experience with microservices and cloud-native development
- Solid understanding of test automation, CI/CD, and deployment pipelines
- Experience delivering features end-to-end (design → deployment)
- Ability to work in a shift-left, DevOps-oriented environment
- Strong analytical and architectural thinking
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with business teams
- Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Fluent in English
- Frontend development experience
- Experience in payments or financial systems
