Network Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on L2/L3 Network Engineer to provide onsite technical support across critical remote locations. In this role, you’ll act as the local technical expert, working closely with a 24/7 offshore support team to ensure seamless network operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being physically present, solving real-world infrastructure challenges, and supporting live environments.

Key Responsibilities

Incident & Problem Management (Mandatory)

• Troubleshoot onsite issues related to LAN, WLAN, WAN, and IT infrastructure
• Step in when remote support isn’t sufficient
• Collaborate with offshore teams to meet SLA targets

Local Request Handling (Mandatory)

• Manage and fulfill all local service requests
• Act as the primary onsite contact for network-related issues

Installations & Changes (Mandatory)

• Perform device installations, upgrades, and decommissioning
• Handle cabling, hardware replacement, and configuration support
• Assist with local IT/network projects (e.g., segmentation)

Hands & Feet Support (Optional)

• Coordinate with local technicians and electricians
• Guide third-party vendors when needed

Communication (Mandatory)

• Fluent in Dutch or French + English (written & spoken)

Technical Skills

Required Expertise

• Cisco: Access Points, Switches, Routers
• Palo Alto: Firewalls
• F5: Load Balancers

• Flexible for planned weekend work

Operational Expectations

• Weekend Work: Planned weekly activities (onsite or remote)
• Onsite Role: Full-time physical presence required
• Contract Duration: Long-term engagement (4+ years)
