M11 Credit is the credit underwriting arm of Maven 11, a global blockchain and crypto-native investment firm.

M11 Credit is currently looking for a Head of Credit & Risk to join our team. The role involves assessing institutional credit opportunities across the digital assets landscape including decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.

Founded in 2021, M11 Credit brings fixed income opportunities to capital allocators and credit solutions to established (crypto-native) companies and DeFi protocols.

By leveraging our longstanding and deep industry relationships we provide insights in up-to-date pricing and collateralization trends through existing lending activity.

Our team of dedicated professionals has expertise in both off-chain and on-chain deal structuring and implementation of comprehensive covenants that go beyond standard industry documentation.

About the job

The ideal candidate will combine strong financial markets expertise with an understanding of digital asset markets and DeFi lending and liquidity protocols. The role requires both traditional credit analysis and the ability to evaluate protocol-level risks, collateral frameworks, and smart contract-based financing structures.

Responsibilities

• Head up the M11 Credit team
• Conduct detailed credit and risk analyses on institutional fixed-income opportunities across the digital assets eco-system
• Assess financial strength, portfolio exposures, leverage, liquidity profiles, and risk management practices
• Analyze protocol design, collateral mechanisms, governance frameworks, when assessing DeFi exposures
• Act as trusted advisor to capital allocators deploying in (M11 Credit managed) fixed-income opportunities across the digital assets landscape including decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols
• Analyze protocol design, collateral mechanisms, governance frameworks, when assessing DeFi exposures
• Evaluate and approve prime brokerage financing arrangements, including margin, collateral, and funding structures
• Monitor ongoing credit exposures across both traditional and digital asset markets
• Recommend and manage credit limits and risk parameters for counterparties and protocol exposures
• Present recommendations to internal risk and credit committees

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in credit risk, counterparty risk, or financial markets risk analysis
• Experience with prime brokerage, securities financing, or leveraged institutional clients
• Strong understanding of financial markets and financing structures
• Working knowledge of digital asset markets and DeFi protocols at the minimum
• Strong financial and quantitative analytical skills
• Ability to communicate credit views clearly to both risk and investment teams as well as to capital allocators
• Based in Europe, possibility to work in Maven 11’s Amsterdam office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience underwriting DeFi lending protocols, liquidity pools, or on-chain credit markets
• Experience covering hedge funds, market makers, or crypto-native trading firms
• Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or equivalent are a plus
