Senior Embedded Security Lead

Position overview

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Security Lead to join our Randstad Digital Romania team in Bucharest/Sibiu for a specialized project, acting as a technical leader and trusted advisor for automotive partners. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in embedded firmware, security protocols, and cryptography to deliver custom solutions for leading-edge automotive technology.

You will work closely with global teams to ensure seamless system-level integration, perform threat modeling, and troubleshoot complex issues while following ISO 21434 and ISO 26262 standards. You will collaborate with technical stakeholders to explain restricted software integration and drive the delivery of support responses within an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a trusted advisor by building close technical relationships with key customers and partners.
• Collaborating across software, hardware, and firmware teams to ensure seamless system-level integration.
• Driving the support process by identifying resources and establishing training materials to resolve customer complaints.
• Educating partners on successful methods for implementing advanced solutions within their specific applications.
• Managing the integration of source-restricted software for customers while maintaining strict IP confidentiality.
• Delivering custom solutions with a strong sense of ownership and urgency to solve complex automotive challenges.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong expertise in C programming and technical analysis using Enterprise Architect (UML).
• Proven experience in SoC/Microcontroller Architecture and system-level integration.
• Deep knowledge of security software, protocols, cryptography, and ISO 21434 standards.
• Experience in Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Security Threat modelling/risk analysis.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and debug firmware within Agile lifecycles.
• Experience in Automotive software processes and decomposition of customer use cases.
• Familiarity with Operating Systems such as Linux, Zephyr, or FreeRTOS.
• Strong collaboration skills to engage with customers and global multidisciplinary teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in English (speaking & writing).
