The Mission
The NFR Hubs Romania team is an integral part of ING’s Non-Financial Risk domain. The team is responsible for ensuring consistent implementation of NFR frameworks, policies, and procedures, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment within the hubs.
The QASLM NFR Specialist IV is part of the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Frameworks & Policies (F&C) team focusing on Quality Assurance and Second Line Monitoring (QA & SLM) and is based in both the Netherlands and Romania. The team is dedicated to ensuring high standards of quality assurance and conducting second line monitoring across all ING entities. Their responsibilities include the performance of second line monitoring on Key Controls for all entities of ING and involvement of (thematic) deep dives.
The QASLM NFR Specialist IV in Hubs Romania reports hierarchically to the Lead of F&C QASLM Team II in Hubs Romania and functionally to Global Lead of NFR QA & SLM located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Your day to day
As an QASLM NFR Specialist IV, you will be responsible for:

Your day to day
As an QASLM NFR Specialist IV, you will be responsible for:
- Support the NFR Quality Assurance & Second Line Monitoring (QA&SLM) team by contributing to assigned tasks and work on the team’s goals;
- Work actively with colleagues to help deliver team objectives efficiently, focusing on risk-based approaches;
- Perform second line monitoring on assigned key controls per framework;
- Analyze the outcome of the SLM activities and share clear and transparent reports to the ING entities;
- Show a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn by taking responsibility for tasks and completing your work, even when challenges arise;
- Apply your solid understanding of non-financial risk and analytical skills to support internal teams and develop positive working relationships;
- Carry out assigned tasks independently, demonstrate initiative when possible, and help with changes that improve the team’s results;
- Contribute to ING’s non-financial risk management efforts and help maintain compliance with regulations by performing your duties diligently.
- Contribute to performing second line monitoring activities on assigned key controls according to the established framework;
- Collect and review relevant documentation and evidence to support monitoring activities;
- Document findings and observations from monitoring reviews in a clear and structured manner;
- Contribute to the preparation of reports summarizing monitoring outcomes for internal stakeholders;
- Collaborate with team members to clarify issues and escalate concerns identified during monitoring;
- Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to develop understanding of non-financial risk processes and best practices.
- University/Postgraduate (Master’s) Degree
- Experience with Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Management frameworks, governance and methodology including related processes, controls and relevant regulations (e.g. EBA, ECB)
- Experience with Information & Technology Risk Management Policies and related internal control standards (e.g. Identity and Access Management, Cyber, Data, AI and Emerging Technologies etc.)
- 3+ years of working experience preferably within the banking sector and/or IT audit
- Good knowledge of analytical, problem-solving, and delivery skills
- Sound stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Able to communicate clearly, good presentation skills, and coordination capabilities
- Ability to work across geographies.
