Network Engineer (32071)

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage, troubleshoot, and optimize our network infrastructure, which includes Nokia routers (7750, 7250, 7705), Cisco ASR903 routers, and Cisco switches. This role involves working with advanced networking protocols, supporting Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN services, and ensuring network security and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations and Maintenance:

• Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot Nokia routers (7750, 7250, 7705), Cisco ASR903 routers, and Cisco switches.
• Manage and optimize routing protocols, including OSPF and BGP, to ensure optimal network performance.
• Oversee Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN services to ensure high availability and reliability.

Level 2 Support:

• Provide Level 2 support to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
• Serve as an escalation point for advanced technical problems.

Radio Access Network (RAN) Support:

• Support and troubleshoot radio access network (RAN) nodes, including 3G, LTE, and 5G technologies.
• Collaborate with RAN teams to ensure seamless network performance and integration.

Network Security:

• Implement and maintain authentication mechanisms using TACACS+ and RADIUS.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and standards.

Microwave Technology Management:

• Operate and maintain Nokia Wavence equipment and manage microwave link setups.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in microwave technologies, ensuring seamless integration into the overall network.

Network Management Tools:

• Operate and maintain the Nokia NSP platform for efficient network service provisioning and management.
• Use network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve network issues.

Maintenance and On-Call Support:

• Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled maintenance windows to support network upgrades and resolve outages.
• Execute changes during maintenance windows following industry best practices and organizational policies.

Required Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network operations, with hands-on exposure to Nokia and Cisco devices.
• Strong expertise in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and VPN services (L2VPN, L3VPN).
• Proficiency in Nokia Wavence and microwave technology.

Skills:

• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for Nokia and Cisco equipment.
• Knowledge of Nokia NSP for network provisioning and management.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and tools, including TACACS+ and RADIUS.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Nokia NRS II or equivalent certification.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.
