The Opportunity:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for developing and executing personnel procedures and policies and providing guidance and interpretation for business operations in Canada. This position plays a critical role in providing support and partnership to the business to ensure multi-province compliance.

A Glimpse Into Your Day:

• Ensure legal compliance of province and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
• Support human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
• Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action and best practices
• Participate in creation, evolution and delivery of training programs and materials which have high clarity and impact
• Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to front line leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions)
• Partner with various stakeholders and departments to identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement and new initiatives
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees while reducing legal risks; partner with internal and/or external legal counsel as required
• Prepare and complete reports and communications as needed in compliance with provincial and federal requirements
• Assist with various HR-related projects
• Perform other duties as assigned

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum three (3) years proven HR Experience
• Knowledge/understanding of employment legislation and best practices (as appropriate by provinces)-Occupational Health & Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, Human Rights Act
• Ability to work independently in an autonomous environment
• Natural interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives with overlapping tasks
• Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude
• Bi-lingual in English and French (preferred)
• Experience in employment services, outsourcing and/or staffing (preferred)
