Job Purpose

The HR Specialist supports all Singapore employees across both Corporate and Retail, delivering high‑quality HR services while operating in a lean, agile HR team.

In addition to strong operational execution, this role acts as the primary HR partner to the Retail commercial team. The incumbent is expected to proactively leverage HR systems, technology, automation, and emerging AI tools to improve efficiency and enhance employee experience

Working in close partnership with the HR Business Partner and regional/global Centres of Excellence (COEs), this role requires a hands‑on, people‑centred, and adaptable professional who is comfortable balancing operational delivery with day‑to‑day HR advisory support.

Responsibilities

HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle

  • Manage end‑to‑end HR operational activities across the employee lifecycle for all Singapore employees, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery
  • Maintain high data integrity across HR systems (e.g. Workday, leave, benefits, payroll inputs)
  • Partner with regional and global HR COEs to ensure alignment with policies, processes, and system standards
  • Work closely with payroll teams and external vendors to ensure smooth monthly payroll, statutory, and compliance processes
  • Ensure adherence to Singapore labour laws, internal controls, and HR governance requirements

HR Partnership

  • Serve as a key HR partner to both Corporate and Retail teams in Singapore, with deeper, day‑to‑day HR partnering accountability for the Retail commercial population
  • Act as the first point of contact for all Retail HR matters, providing practical, timely, and people‑focused guidance to managers and employees
  • Support Retail leaders on employee lifecycle topics including onboarding, probation confirmations, performance management processes, employee relations queries, and policy interpretation
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders by being visible, approachable, and commercially aware of both office‑based and retail operations
  • Proactively identify people trends, risks, issues and recommend solutions or improvements in partnership with the HRBP

Technology, Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Actively leverage HR systems, digital tools, and automation (including AI‑enabled solutions where appropriate) to improve efficiency and employee experience
  • Participate in HR system implementations, enhancements, testing (UAT), and global or regional HR projects
  • Continuously review HR processes to identify opportunities for simplification, standardisation, and scalability
  • Produce HR data, dashboards, and insights to support operational reviews and workforce decision‑making

Employee Experience & Communication

  • Manage employee queries and cases effectively, ensuring consistent follow‑up, resolution, and appropriate escalation
  • Support employee engagement and culture initiatives in partnership with the HRBP and business leaders
  • Provide or facilitate practical HR‑related training and briefings for managers and employees where required (e.g. HR processes, people management fundamentals, policy updates)

Requirements

  • Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a multinational, fast‑paced, or lean environment
  • Strong grounding in HR operations with the ability to go beyond execution and contribute ideas, improvements, and solutions
  • Hands‑on experience with HR systems (e.g. Workday or similar platforms) and a strong interest in using technology, digital tools, and AI to enhance HR delivery
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
  • A proactive, agile and independent individual who is curious and constantly challenges the status quo
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage employees, retail leaders, and corporate stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail combined with sound judgement and a practical, solution‑oriented mindset
  • A genuine people person who balances empathy with professionalism and business awareness
