Lead React Native Developer

🚀 Lead React Native (Fullstack) – $950/day inc. super + GST - 6 months+ - Sydney (Hybrid)

I’m working with a consultancy partner building out a brand-new engineering squad for a major player in the payments space here in Sydney, and they’re looking for a Lead React Native Engineer to own and shape the mobile platform from day one.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll sit across React Native (Expo) + Node/TypeScript, driving architecture, setting standards, and delivering a high-quality, scalable product used by a large customer base.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading development across React Native (Expo) + React (web)
• Owning the BFF layer (Node.js / TypeScript)
• Designing scalable frontend architecture & component systems
• Driving performance, quality, and engineering standards
• Mentoring engineers and shaping best practices across the team
• Building a platform that supports multiple branded mobile experiences

What they’re looking for

• Strong experience with React Native (Expo) - this is key
• Full-stack TypeScript background (frontend + BFF)
• Experience designing scalable frontend architectures
• Solid understanding of API orchestration & data shaping
• Exposure to AWS + modern CI/CD practices
• Previous experience in platform builds, refactors, or complex apps

The details

• $950/day (incl. super + GST)
• 6-month contract + likely extensions
• Sydney – 3 days in office / 2 WFH
• ASAP start preferred
