About the Role

BA Creative is looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer to join our amazing team. If you have a strong background in eCommerce web design (ideally Shopify) and thrive in an agency environment, this is an opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of exciting clients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, creative UI and UX design for our web design projects
• Contribute to digital marketing creative
• Meet briefs in terms of quality and budget
• Provide strategic input and design direction across client and internal projects
• Stay up to date with latest tech, including AI, implementing strategically
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers to provide design work in line with our priorities and schedules
• Work alongside the Development Team on the overlap between the design and development of our projects
• Support Sales and Strategy Team to provide expert advice, strategy at the quoting and project scoping stages
• Attend and lead meetings with different team members at all stages of a project
• Review work done by other team members, ensuring deliverables hit the brief
• Present final concepts internally and externally to clients
• Design intuitive, high-performing UI/UX for Shopify and WordPress website projects including full website builds, audits, and support retainers
• Create wireframes, sitemaps, and prototypes in Figma
• Collaborate with the Development Team to deliver WordPress and Shopify builds, including supporting theme customization, working with third-party apps, and contributing to solutions around platform capabilities and constraints
• Participate in all web design project meetings with project managers and clients
• Present and justify design decisions with a strong UX rationale
• Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and best practices

Qualifications

Must have skills (min 2-yrs):

• UI Design for eCommerce + solid understanding of designing for development - the ability to design for developers
• UX Skills (CRO, user journeys, data insights, performance analysis)
• Figma expertise (wireframes, prototypes, presentations)
• Strong presentation skills (Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop))
• 2+ years of agency or active freelance experience

Preferred Skills

• WordPress and/or Shopify front-end knowledge
• Print design experience
• Branding (strategy and design)
• Marketing experience (EDMs, paid ads creative, campaign concepts)
• Adobe InDesign & After Effects

Icing on the cake:

• Animation, video editing, photography, or content creation
• Familiarity with VS Code, Jitter, ClickUp (or similar)
• GA4, Shopify Analytics
• Meta Ads Manager & Google Ads (reporting level)

Pay range and compensation package

Part time - 3 or 4 days/week. Salary $80k-$90k + Super (pro rata).

This is an in-house role in Brisbane, with Work From Home Wednesdays. Remote applicants will not be considered. We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
