Who We Are

Pago is the app for household payments in Romania, and we are working towards making it a success in Poland, Italy and a few other countries during the next few years. Our users' aha moment is seeing all their bills on one screen and being able to pay them all with one confirmation.

Since launching in 2017, we’ve processed 30+ million payments worth over 1 billion EUR. Our team of 50 (soon 60+) developers, designers, marketers, support and business experts is scaling fast across multiple markets.

Now we’re looking for a Product Designer who can help us shape intuitive, elegant and high-impact user experiences — someone who can turn complex payment flows into simple, seamless interactions that millions of users rely on every day.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Product Designer (Mid–Senior) to join our team, full-time and remote.

You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to design and ship simple, reliable and scalable experiences that people use every day.

This is a hands-on role — you’ll own flows end-to-end, contribute to our design system, and help us build better ways of working around design at Pago.

We’re looking for someone who thinks in product, not just pixels — comfortable taking ownership, challenging ideas when needed, and delivering solid work at a good pace.

What You’ll Do

• Design product flows from discovery through polished UI, collaborating with PMs, developers, and other designers
• Own end-to-end features in the app: research, prototype, test, ship, iterate
• Contribute to and evolve our ever-evolving design system (we’ve already transitioned to semantic tokens, Figma variables, and white-label customizations)
• Leverage AI tools at every step from ideation, UI generation, and copywriting, to testing and handoff
• Improve existing experiences with a focus on usability, accessibility, and consistency
• Support product decisions with insights from user feedback, analytics, and UX research
• Work across domains like bills, insurance, car management, lottery, etc., and contribute to the B2C experiences.
• Give and receive feedback in critiques, Figma comments, and async discussion
  
  

What We're Looking For

• 4–6 years of experience designing digital products (mobile and/or web), ideally within a cross-functional product team
• Strong UX/UI skills — your portfolio should demonstrate thoughtful interaction design, clean visual execution, and clear design rationale
• Strong AI adoption — you actively use AI tools to speed up and improve your workflow. We’re looking for designers who see AI as a creative multiplier (not a shortcut) and stay curious about how emerging capabilities can enhance both the design process and the user experience
• Comfortable working in Figma and other prototyping tools
• Experience working with or contributing to a design system
• Solid product thinking — you understand user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
• Detail-oriented but pragmatic — you know when perfect is the enemy of good
• Clear communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Bonus: Familiarity with semantic tokens, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1), or white-label product environments

• Meet your buddy and mentor

• Contribute to small tasks, observe flows, and suggest improvements
• Attend product planning and learn how we make decisions

• Take ownership of one or more features
• Join user interviews or review support feedback to validate ideas
• Collaborate with marketing on campaign-related visuals
  
  

Month 6

• Drive full UX flows from concept to delivery
• Help evolve our design system for multi-market scalability
• Participate in roadmap discussions and help shape what we build next
