Our manufacturing client just 20 minutes north of Barrie, ON is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to join a growing manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for an HR professional with proven experience in a unionized manufacturing environment who is looking to make a meaningful impact across recruitment, employee relations, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for both hourly (unionized) and salaried positions
  • Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies and talent pipelines
  • Partner with colleges and training institutions to support workforce development initiatives
  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding for new hires
  • Track and analyze HR metrics to support decision-making
  • Provide guidance on collective agreement interpretation and application
  • Support attendance management and progressive discipline processes
  • Conduct workplace investigations and prepare detailed reports with recommendations
  • Assist with grievance management, including documentation and drafting responses
  • Support collective bargaining preparation and documentation
  • Maintain job descriptions and physical demands analyses
  • Ensure compliance with ESA, AODA, and applicable employment legislation
  • Support STD claims administration and reporting
  • Assist with policy development and HR program implementation


Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Administration
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment a MUST
  • Mandatory experience in a unionized setting
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including ESA
  • Experience with ADP HRMS is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
