Overview

We are seeking a Back ‑ end Engineer to design, build, and maintain reliable backend services that support modern, user ‑ focused applications. In this role, you will develop .NET ‑ based APIs and microservices, integrate cloud services on Azure, and contribute to backend systems that power chat, ticketing, and configuration workflows. You will work closely with front-end engineers and other stakeholders to ensure backend solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with product needs.

Primary Location: Across Canada or USA

Work Model: Fully Remote

Responsibilities

  • Develop RESTful APIs using .NET to support frontend application workflows
  • Implement microservices for knowledge base management and configuration
  • Build backend services for agent creation, model configuration, and tool integration
  • Support chat and ticketing workflows, including conversation context persistence
  • Integrate Azure services such as storage, messaging, and identity management
  • Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms
  • Develop Python asset modules for data processing and AI pipeline support
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure API usability and performance
  • Write unit tests and maintain backend technical documentation
  • Monitor service health and troubleshoot production issues


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Experience developing backend services and APIs using .NET
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services and cloud ‑ based integrations
  • Experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms
  • Working knowledge of Python for backend services or data processing
  • Understanding of backend testing practices and documentation standards
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with frontend and cross ‑ functional teams
  • Experience supporting production systems and resolving operational issues


NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience supporting AI pipelines or data ‑ driven backend services
  • Familiarity with chat, ticketing, or workflow ‑ based systems
  • Exposure to event ‑ driven architectures or messaging systems
  • Experience working in SaaS or cloud ‑ native environments
  • Experience integrating Azure AI services such as Azure OpenAI or Azure AI Search into backend applications
