We're Hiring: Remote Backend Developer for a High-Growth Fintech Startup

We’re hiring on behalf of a rapidly scaling fintech startup headquartered in Kuwait, focused on making global investing more accessible, ethical, and efficient. Their flagship mobile app—launched in early 2023—lets users trade shariah-compliant U.S. stocks and has already become a trusted investment tool in Kuwait.

After quickly surpassing performance benchmarks and being recognized as Fintech of the Year 2023 by Entrepreneur Magazine, the team has expanded its offering with a robo-advisory platform and continues building new products and features with plans to grow across the Middle East.

They are now looking for a Full-Time Remote Backend Developer to help power the core systems that support trading, compliance, and new fintech services.

🚀 What You’ll Be Doing

• Build new features for existing systems (e.g., U.S. securities trading)
• Plan and develop backend services for new investment products
• Design and build internal tools and admin dashboards
• Assist in integrating with third-party APIs and vendors
• Improve and maintain existing microservice codebases
• Contribute to the design and evolution of scalable, robust backend architecture

🧠 What You’ll Bring

• Solid experience in Java and Microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and Kubernetes
• Experience with end-to-end testing in Java environments
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably with AWS
• Passion for working in a fast-paced startup setting
• Strong commitment to writing clean, well-tested, and maintainable code
• Comfortable participating in technical leadership, including code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentoring other developers
