Senior Backend Developer

Full-Time · Hybrid (2–3 Days On-Site) · Immediate Start Preferred

We are hiring on behalf of a technology company based on the European side of Istanbul, building scalable, high-performance backend systems and modern digital products.

They are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (5+ years experience) who can take ownership of backend services, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate closely with the team on-site 2–3 days per week. Candidates who are available to start immediately will be prioritized.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend systems
• Take ownership of microservices architecture and backend components
• Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs and system integrations
• Work with messaging systems, caching layers, and databases to ensure system efficiency
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Lead or actively contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, QA, product)
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team growth

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience
• Strong expertise in Java (8 / 11 / 17 / 21)
• Proven experience with microservices architecture
• Deep knowledge of the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data)
• Strong experience with Hibernate / JPA
• Experience with Maven (or Gradle)
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar)
• Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ for messaging/event streaming
• Familiarity with Redis or similar caching technologies
• Experience writing unit and integration tests (JUnit or similar frameworks)
• Experience with database migration tools (Liquibase or Flyway)
• Strong understanding of software design principles and clean architecture

• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch / OpenSearch / Solr
• Familiarity with API Gateway solutions (Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway, etc.)
• Experience with SonarQube and static analysis tools (Checkstyle, PMD, SpotBugs)
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
