About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Developer to join our dynamic team at E.ON Grid Solutions GmbH. In this role, you will play a crucial part in advancing our neonpulse platform, which serves as the technological backbone for secure and standardized data integration across various systems. Your responsibilities will include developing scalable cloud and middleware services, optimizing backend processes, and creating intuitive frontend tools using JavaScript and React. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including backend, frontend, operations, and product management to shape the future of our digital energy infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge IoT and cloud technologies, contributing directly to the acceleration of the energy transition.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, complemented by extensive professional experience. You should have at least five years of proven expertise in cloud and backend development, preferably within IoT or platform environments. Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and relational databases such as Microsoft SQL is essential. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, is required. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI, and frontend development with JavaScript and React is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills in German (C1 level) and English (B2 level) are necessary to effectively collaborate across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain middleware services for the neonpulse platform, ensuring secure and high-performance processing of telemetry and IoT data.
• Design, implement, and enhance cloud applications using Java and Spring Boot, focusing on scalability, reliability, and functionality.
• Optimize database connectivity by designing efficient SQL queries and leveraging Hibernate and JPA for high-performance data access.
• Manage deployment and operational activities in Microsoft Azure, utilizing Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI to ensure seamless, automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and gRPC/Protobuf interfaces to facilitate reliable service-to-service communication.
• Develop internal tools and frontend components with JavaScript and React, including dashboards, configuration interfaces, and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams to support platform development, troubleshoot issues, and implement new features.
• Participate in technical decision-making processes, contribute to platform evolution, and stay updated with emerging technologies relevant to the energy sector.
