Data Architect

Role Overview - Optoscale - Bergen.

We’re looking for a Data Engineer/Architect to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure powering OptoScale’s sensor analytics platform. You’ll work closely with data scientists, platform engineers, and product teams to ensure fast, reliable, and scalable data processing. EU citizens will get some relocations support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT workflows for high‑volume sensor data.
• Manage and optimize cloud‑based data infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Implement data quality, validation, and observability tooling.
• Collaborate with ML/analytics teams to enable efficient model training and deployment.
• Ensure data security, lineage, governance, and compliance.

Tech Stack (preferred)

• Python, SQL
• Spark, Kafka, Airflow
• Databricks or similar compute platforms
• AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR) or equivalent cloud
• Docker, Kubernetes a plus
• Experience with time-series or IoT data is beneficial
