Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer – Base24 EPS to support development, integration, and maintenance of card payment systems within the QNB environment. The role involves working on cards, POS, ATM systems, and ensuring seamless processing across multiple international card schemes.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Base24-eps, HPE NonStop systems, and payment processing workflows including authorization, settlement, and tokenization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Development & Support (Base24 EPS)

• Perform onsite software development and support for Base24-eps platform
• Customize and enhance payment processing applications
• Provide SIT (System Integration Testing) and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) support

2. Cards & Payment Processing

• Support end-to-end processing for:
• Card authorization
• Transaction switching
• Settlement & reconciliation
• Tokenization services
• QR-based payments
• Ensure smooth functioning of ATM, POS, and card transactions

3. Scheme Integration & Compliance

• Work with global card schemes:
• Visa
• MasterCard
• JCB
• American Express (AMEX)
• UPI
• QCB
• Implement scheme mandates, compliance requirements, and upgrades
• Support onboarding of new scheme features and certifications

4. Operational Support

• Support cards and merchant operations processes
• Troubleshoot transaction issues and ensure minimal downtime
• Coordinate with business, operations, and external vendors

5. System & Platform Expertise

• Work on HPE NonStop platform
• Develop and maintain applications using:
• TACL
• C / C++
• Pathway
• NCPCOM

Required Skills & Expertise

Core Skills

• Strong experience in Base24-eps
• Knowledge of card payment lifecycle (Authorization → Clearing → Settlement)
• Experience with ATM, POS, and card systems
• Understanding of tokenization and QR payments

Technical Skills

• HPE NonStop systems
• Programming: C / C++
• TACL scripting
• Pathway & NCPCOM

Domain Knowledge

• Card schemes (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, JCB, UPI)
• Payment switching systems
• Merchant acquiring & issuing processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Experience working in banking / financial services domain
• Prior experience with QNB or similar banking environments is a plus
