Senior Android Engineer

Davidson Technology Consulting is partnering with a high-profile enterprise to build and evolve a large-scale mobile platform used by a significant customer base every day. You'll join a modern engineering environment focused on reliability, performance, and great native experiences across iOS and Android. The team works in agile delivery squads with strong engineering standards, CI/CD maturity, and collaboration across global stakeholders. This is an opportunity to shape key parts of a flagship digital product while working alongside experienced technical leaders.

Over view of role:
As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll take ownership of key modules on a mission-critical mobile platform, contributing across the full software delivery lifecycle; from design and build through to release and ongoing optimisation, with opportunities to influence platform direction, engineering practices, and customer experience.

• Design, build, review, and maintain production-grade native mobile features and services
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leaders to deliver intuitive, high-quality mobile experiences
• Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure solutions align with long-term platform strategy
• Work within agile squads, participating in ceremonies, prototyping, peer reviews, and iterative delivery
• Strengthen CI/CD, build, release, and DevOps practices to improve quality and speed to market
• Write robust, maintainable code with strong unit/component testing, debugging, and performance considerations

Requred Skill set:
We're looking for senior engineers who care about clean code, strong engineering fundamentals, and building high-quality native experiences at scale. You'll be comfortable collaborating across teams, contributing to architecture, and delivering reliably in complex enterprise environments.

• Android engineering experience in complex, enterprise environments.
• Kotlin/Java with Jetpack Compose, Android Studio/SDK
• Strong architecture patterns (Clean Architecture, MVVM/MVC) and UI theming (Material Design; Material 3 a plus)
• Testing + delivery experience (unit/UI/API testing, Gradle, CI/CD tooling such as Fastlane/Jenkins/Git
• Nice to have (either platform): React Native exposure, accessibility and performance testing, mobile security awareness, GraphQL/microservices familiarity
