We’re looking for a high-energy, operationally savvy HR Generalist to step into this newly created role and support our operations teams. This is a dynamic, hands-on position partnering closely with frontline teams and operational leaders on performance conversations, recruitment drives, and compliance. It’s a critical role with real influence, shaping the employee experience on the ground, strengthening our culture, and driving meaningful impact across Dragonfly’s operations.

About Dragonfly:

Drawing on over three decades of experience as a market leader in Canada, Dragonfly is a new subsidiary that is hitting the ground running. Using the latest technologies and the right people ensures greater efficiencies, better results, and a superior customer experience.

At Dragonfly, it’s the littlest details that make the difference. We are a fast-paced company with a firm grip on market growth. We boast an agile working environment and do not shy away from challenges. Every member of our team is on the ground to guarantee on-time deliveries to doorsteps all around Australia.

Position Overview:

As the HR Generalist, reporting to the HR Director, you will support and oversee our operational hubs across Victoria and South Australia, with further portfolio expansion on the horizon. Partnering closely with frontline leaders, you will provide practical, on-the-ground HR support that enables high-performing, compliant, and engaged depot teams.

You will manage day-to-day employee relations, support performance and attendance management, and ensure HR policies and processes are applied consistently in line with Australian employment legislation. The role also involves assisting with investigations, maintaining accurate HR documentation and systems, and delivering end-to-end support across the employee lifecycle.

Working as a trusted point of contact for managers and employees, you will contribute to reporting and analysis, support HR initiatives and workplace health and safety processes, and collaborate closely with teams including payroll, recruitment, and WHS to ensure effective and seamless people operations across your region.

This is a highly visible, multi-site support role offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact on both operational performance and employee experience, with scope to grow as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and oversee HR operations across designated depot hubs in Victoria and South Australia, partnering closely with frontline leaders to deliver practical, on-the-ground people support.
  • Manage day-to-day employee relations matters, providing guidance to managers and assisting with investigations, documentation, and resolution of workplace issues.
  • Support performance and attendance management processes, including reviews, documentation, and tracking outcomes, while coaching leaders on underperformance, behavioural concerns, and employee wellbeing.
  • Ensure consistent application and interpretation of HR policies, procedures, and Australian employment legislation, escalating complex matters where required.
  • Support recruitment processes for operational roles within your region, partnering with hiring managers and the recruitment team to coordinate hiring activities, provide guidance, and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Provide end-to-end administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employment changes, and exits, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR records and systems.
  • Produce and analyse HR reports and workforce data to identify trends, support decision-making, and flag potential risks or areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Payroll, Recruitment, and Workplace Health & Safety to ensure seamless and compliant people operations.
  • Support workplace health and safety processes, including incident investigations, workers’ compensation administration, and audit requirements.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, contributing to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment across the region.
  • Champion Dragonfly’s core values of teamwork, innovation, customer-focus, and diligence, modelling these behaviours in all interactions and supporting leaders to embed them within their teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, ideally supporting operational or multi-site teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, modern awards, and HR policies, with the ability to apply them in practical situations.
  • Experience managing employee relations, performance, attendance, and workplace investigations.
  • Demonstrated ability to support recruitment and onboarding for operational roles.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative, and HR system skills, with attention to detail across multiple locations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence leaders, handle sensitive matters, and champion Dragonfly’s core values.

Why Join Dragonfly?

  • Be part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment where your ideas and contributions are valued.
  • Benefit from a flexible hybrid working arrangement that supports work-life balance.
  • Make a tangible and measurable impact on the employee experience and operational success.
  • Receive a competitive remuneration package that reflects your skills and experience.
  • Access Employee Assistance Program (EAP) support for wellbeing and personal development.
  • Enjoy genuine growth and development opportunities across both Australia and Canada.
