Lead Developer / AI Lead – Permanent Position

Location: Tampere preferred (other major Finnish cities possible)

Salary: 5000–6500€ per month

I’m supporting a long-standing client who is looking to hire a Lead Developer / AI Lead for a permanent role. This is a great opportunity to join a well-known organisation in the industrial sector and play a key role in shaping their AI journey.

About the role:

You’ll join a team that has recently focused on modernising older platforms, adding new features to existing software, building a new data strategy, and introducing AI tools into their projects. They are now strengthening their AI capabilities and want someone who can help drive this forward.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and developing AI and GenAI applications
• Contributing to architecture and long-term AI integration
• Leading research initiatives and validating new technologies
• Ensuring quality, performance, and governance of AI solutions
• Working closely with business and technical teams
• Keeping documentation clear and up to date

What they’re looking for:

• Degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or similar
• 7+ years of software development experience
• Experience building production-ready industrial applications
• Hands-on experience with AI/GenAI projects
• Knowledge of process technology (strong advantage)
• Experience with time-series data or predictive maintenance (nice to have)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Supportive, open-minded, forward-thinking approach
• Excellent English skills

Tech environment:

The team works with a broad mix of technologies, including:

• Python, C#
• AWS, Azure
• Some on-prem data environments
• AI tools such as Claude and Copilot
