Lead Backend Developer (Payments, Reconciliation & Settlement, Fintech)

FA Solutions, a leading provider of Wealth and Asset Management software solutions, is now looking for a Lead Backend Developer.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will join a development team building the FA Operations application that supports core back-office processes in the financial domain. The system is already in production and is being actively expanded, improved, and scaled in phases.

Your primary focus will be on backend development using Java and Spring as well as working with SQL databases. In addition to hands-on coding, you’ll also contribute to shaping the overall architecture of the application.

You’ll work closely with your own development team and collaborate with product owners to define and refine requirements.

We require you to have:

• At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong backend focus
• Solid experience with Java and the Spring framework
• Good understanding of SQL and working with large relational databases
• Experience from financial systems focused on back office tasks and workflows
• A full professional proficiency in English

We consider as an asset:

• Experience developing and deploying applications in cloud environments
• Full-stack capabilities
• Familiarity with AI based development tools (Github Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code)

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position, in which you will be employed directly to FA Solutions. The ideal starting date for this position is as soon as possible. The company’s office is located in Helsinki, but you can work fully remotely from anywhere in Finland.
