Senior Backend Engineer (Rust)

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Rust to develop and maintain robust backend services, emphasizing scalability, performance, and code quality.

This role uses modern technologies and cloud infrastructure to deliver critical features and sustain system reliability.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services with Rust
• Implement API-first services (REST; GraphQL exposure is a plus) while ensuring clean, testable code
• Deploy and operate services on AWS, using tools like Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, and DynamoDB
• Enforce security best practices, including IAM roles and secrets management, and apply infrastructure-as-code methods
• Optimize database performance (SQL or NoSQL) and safeguard data integrity during schema changes
• Build third-party system integrations and utilize messaging systems like SQS/SNS for asynchronous workflows
• Support CI/CD pipelines, monitor system metrics, and address incidents in production
• Coordinate with frontend, QA, and product teams in Agile environments to deliver critical business features
• Contribute to technical discussions, estimations, and process enhancements
• Uphold coding standards and engineering best practices

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Rust expertise
• Expertise in Rust concepts, including ownership, borrowing, and concurrency
• Knowledge of API development with REST and familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases
• Proficiency in AWS cloud services like Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, and DynamoDB
• Skills in using Git along with CI/CD workflow implementations
• Background in Agile team dynamics with strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Capability to learn new technologies quickly and take on increasing responsibilities
• Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)

Nice to have

• Background in async Rust (Tokio, async/await) and event-driven architectures
• Knowledge of containerization and high-performance or systems-level services
• Understanding of enterprise-scale environments
