Are you ready to shape the future of digital insurance?
As an API Product Manager at If, you’ll be at the heart of our digital transformation, enabling new business opportunities and great customer experiences through APIs, IAM and AI.
Your role is central to cross‑functional initiatives, delivering new API Products and capabilities, and promoting API‑first thinking across the organization. You’ll be seen as a forerunner in understanding AI Agents, agentic processes and how APIs, data, and access controls shape the way AI solutions are built and scaled.
The role will initially cover for a colleague going on maternity leave and is expected to evolve over time, with responsibilities gradually shifting towards product management for AI-driven use cases in the API and IAM area, including the data and tools accessed by AI agents.
You’ll join Digital Sales and Customer Experience, within Business Area Private, focusing on digital enablers for transformation. Our team lives by If’s core values - collaborating across business and IT to deliver the API Products our business needs. What are you going to do?
- Impact the governance and processes around the development and lifecycle management of API Products across our business areas and countries
- Ensures our APIs are secure, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs, including AI integration and compliance with IAM and security standards
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, legal, and business stakeholders to enable teams to deliver robust and compliant APIs
- Guide teams in producing and consuming APIs, lead risk assessments for external partners, and create engaging content for our Developer Portal
What do we expect from you?
You are a product manager at heart, that can apply product management principles and thinking to products, processes or new technologies. You thrive in the intersection between business and IT, building trust across stakeholder groups. You are curious and not afraid to roll up your sleeves to drive change in a structured and result-oriented manner.
You also have:
- Experience in product management and agile ways of working
- Understanding of API architecture, IAM protocols, and OAuth2 flows
- Awareness of AI applications, AI agents and their integration with APIs
- Experience working in complex organizational and technical setups
- Familiarity with API security risks
- Excellent communication skills and ability to drive change
- Strong drive and a structured, result-oriented approach
- Day-to-day responsibilities require a good/excellent level of English to communicate with colleagues from other countries, Latvian and/or Nordic language skills are a plus
- Solid educational background, in either technology or business, preferably higher education degree
