About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Security Specialist to join our XDP business unit at Barclays, based in London, UK. This role is pivotal in strengthening the security framework of our Android applications by implementing advanced identity and access management (CIAM) solutions. The successful candidate will be instrumental in executing cryptographic protocols, integrating enterprise authentication SDKs, and ensuring that our mobile platforms adhere to the highest security standards. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Android development with a focus on security. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Proven experience in implementing security protocols, cryptography, and authentication frameworks within Android applications is essential. Familiarity with identity management solutions such as Ping, ForgeRock, or similar platforms is highly desirable. Candidates should have hands-on experience with Android Keystore, biometric authentication (Fingerprint, Face ID), and secure data storage practices. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are crucial. Certifications related to security or Android development, such as CISSP, CEH, or Google Associate Android Developer, will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of identity management SDKs such as Ping and ForgeRock into Android applications, ensuring secure and seamless authentication processes.
• Implement client-side cryptographic protocols as specified by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), maintaining high-performance standards.
• Utilize networking libraries like OkHTTP to facilitate secure data transmission, including implementing certificate pinning and other security measures.
• Manage the lifecycle of cryptographic keys using Android Keystore, ensuring secure storage and retrieval of sensitive information.
• Incorporate biometric authentication methods such as fingerprint and facial recognition to enhance user security and convenience.
• Develop functional prototypes within the “ACME Bank” environment to demonstrate and test CIAM capabilities, providing valuable insights for security improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, security analysts, and developers to deliver secure and user-friendly mobile applications.
• Stay updated with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices to continuously enhance the security posture of Barclays’ Android applications.
