Overview: Our client, a leading online gaming company based in Watford, is seeking a skilled React Developer to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing high-quality front-end solutions, working with complex, high-throughput systems. You’ll collaborate with a passionate team of engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable applications using React, contributing to the development of cutting-edge gaming experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create effective solutions and software designs from product requirements.
• Produce well-structured, testable code.
• Apply best practices, adhering to industry and internal standards.
• Ensure solutions are performant and observable in high-complexity, high-throughput gaming systems through metrics and monitoring.
• Balance technical solutions with commercial constraints.
• Provide technical mentorship to less experienced team members.
• Scope and estimate work effectively.
• Deliver both as an individual contributor and through others.
• Own technical solutions end-to-end, including in production.
• Adjust and adapt to technical changes as required.

Essential Experience / Skills:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Front-End Engineer.
• Expertise in React.js, including deep understanding of the component lifecycle, hooks, context API, and best practices in state management.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+): Familiarity with modern JavaScript features like arrow functions, destructuring, and async/await.
• Experience using TypeScript for improved type safety and developer tooling in larger projects.
• Knowledge of state management libraries like React Query, Redux, or React’s Context API.
• Familiarity with consuming RESTful APIs & GraphQL, handling JSON data, and managing asynchronous requests.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or similar tools.
• Competence with modern frontend build tools and bundlers like Webpack, Vite, or Babel.
• Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility and building applications for multiple devices.
• Experience in designing and implementing Micro Frontend architecture to break down large frontend applications into smaller, independently deployable units.

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a gaming, gambling, or online marketing company.
• Exposure to customer/marketing analytics (e.g., segmentation, churn, retention, etc.).
