Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js) in Berlin (or Luxembourg) to join our dynamic team. As a senior team member, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for our platform. You’ll play a critical role in shaping our backend infrastructure and ensuring seamless integration with frontend and third-party services.

You will work on our flagship tokenization product, which provides a full service for the complete end-to-end lifecycle of a tokenized digital security: from setting up token structure, to distribution, issuance and repayments. To this date over $1.8bn. assets were tokenized via this product - and the number grows exponentially. Check our vision for an introduction into what we bring to the market!

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and implementation of our microservice architecture, ensuring best practices in scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Translate business and functional needs into technical requirements compliant with the regulation.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, and conduct peer code reviews.
• Contribute to the services interacting with the blockchain. Create a secure architecture to manage on-chain, off-chain, L2, and stablecoin transactions.
• Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and improve system reliability.
• Enhance development workflows, including continuous integration, deployment pipelines, and automated testing.

Skills And Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of software development experience.
• Minimum 5 years of backend development with Node.js / TypeScript.
• Practical experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB).
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker), orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong benefit: Experience with UTXO models or other blockchains (bitcoin, Layer-2 solutions, crypto-assets, stablecoins, wallets).
• Strong benefit: Background or interest in regulated finance (corporate markets, banking, or investment platforms).
• Nice to have: Experience with event-sourcing.
