Software Engineer (PHP)

NFQ is a core technology partner for HomeToGo – a dedicated team of software engineers and data science professionals driving innovation to power a marketplace with the world’s largest selection of vacation rentals. We are expanding HomeToGo’s technology team in Lithuania and are looking for the brightest talents to join this growing company.

From vacation homes, cabins, beach houses, apartments, condos, house boats, castles, farm stays and everything in between, HomeToGo combines price, destination, dates and amenities to find the perfect accommodation for any trip worldwide.

Founded in 2014, HomeToGo operates localized apps & websites in 25 countries across Europe, North America, South America, Australia and Asia-Pacific. HomeToGo also operates brands such as Agriturismo.it, AMIVAC, Casamundo, CaseVacanza.it, e-domizil, EscapadaRural, Tripping.com and Wimdu.

As a Software Engineer (PHP), you will be instrumental in scaling our payment ecosystem. You won’t just be implementing pre-defined tasks; you will be a co-creator of the product. Working in a Platform environment, you will bridge the gap between complex financial logic and a seamless user experience, ensuring our architecture remains resilient under the pressure of high-volume global data.

• Partner directly with Product Managers to shape the roadmap. You are expected to bring technical perspectives to the “why” and “what,” not just the  “how”


• Lead the technical discovery and implementation of global payment gateways (Adyen, ProcessOut, Checkout.com) as we scale into new territories


• Build and maintain robust payment services using PHP 8.4 and Symfony 7.4


• Work within a modern cloud environment using Docker and Kubernetes to build highly available, fault-tolerant services that remain stable under the demands of global financial traffic


• Use Kibana, Grafana, and New Relic not just for debugging, but to identify performance trends that inform our next product iterations


• Collaborate with the Payment Operations team to automate manual workflows, turning operational pain points into scalable engineering solutions


• Collaborate with Data Engineering to pipe critical financial data into Snowflake and Superset for advanced business intelligence


• You won’t just “fix bugs.” You identify opportunities to improve the product and challenge requirements when you see a better way to achieve a business goal

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development (ideally with PHP/Symfony)


• Ability to debate technical trade-offs with Product Managers and Senior Devs to find the most impactful solution


• A strong interest in (or experience with) payment processing or financial systems


• Fluent English skills, as you will be working with a distributed team across Europe


• Flexibility to commuting to our Kaunas office for collaborative sessions, while enjoying our flexible hybrid work model

• Previous experience with Adyen or similar PSPs, or a background in building KYC/onboarding flows


• Experience working with K8s and Docker environments.

Salary range: € 3000 - 5500 gross / month
