Data Analyst

Overview:

Our client, a prominent government health agency based in Melbourne CBD, is seeking a skilled Data Analyst (multiple role) to contribute to their critical public health projects. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes through insightful data analysis. These roles are ideal for professionals with strong reporting, data analytics, and stakeholder engagement experience who enjoy working with complex datasets and turning data into meaningful insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver reporting and data analytics solutions across multiple projects
• Analyse large and complex datasets to support business decision-making
• Capture and document detailed data and information processes, including:
• Source systems
• Raw entities
• Data attributes
• Develop data and reporting requirements aligned to business needs, key drivers, and IT strategy
• Import and manage non‑SQL data sources (e.g. .csv, .xlsx) into SQL databases
• Work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure requirements and documentation are clear, accurate, and user‑friendly

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

• Minimum 3 years’ proven experience in reporting and/or data analytics project delivery
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
• Minimum 3 years’ experience using Base SAS programming language
• Strong experience analysing large datasets
• Experience working with data from multiple systems and formats
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders

Desirable:

• Experience importing and integrating non‑SQL data sources into SQL environments
• Strong documentation and data process mapping skills
