QA Automation

We are looking for a QA Engineer with a primary focus on back-end manual and automated testing, while also bringing front-end testing skills to support the quality of our personalized education products and services.

As part of our QA team, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other technical stakeholders to ensure we deliver exceptional experiences to the teachers and students who rely on our tools every day.

In this role, you'll go beyond traditional software testing—you'll serve as a quality advocate throughout the development lifecycle.

You'll help shape our testing strategy and collaborate cross-functionally to embed quality into every stage of the process.

Responsibilities:

● Design, develop, and execute automated functional, integration, and regression tests, primarily for backend services.

● Perform manual testing for frontend and backend services, including exploratory, functional, and regression testing.

● Translate product and technical requirements into detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts (manual and automated).

● Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define clear, testable requirements and ensure alignment on expected outcomes.

Requirements:

● Solid understanding of QA methodology, testing techniques, and approaches

● Experience with manual, front end test case creation and execution

● Solid experience building automated test suites with some manual testing required

● Solid experience developing pytest-based test automation

● Solid experience with SQL and psycopg to access and update databases

● Proficiency with programmatic and/or scripted creation of test data to support test automation

● Proficiency with bash shell scripting and basic Linux tools

● Proficiency with Git based version control, code review, and best practices in maintaining quality code for automation scripts

It will be valued:

● Experience with AWS services including RDS, Lambda, ECS, S3, and CloudWatch is a plus

● Experience working with GitHub actions and workflows is a plus

● Experience working with GraphQL is a plus

● Experience with performance or load testing is a plus

● Experience with frontend automated testing using Playwright is a plus
