PiezoMotor designs and manufactures piezoelectric linear and rotary motors for customers in medical technology, semiconductor, optics, and defense. Our technology enables extremely compact, precise motion without magnetic fields – and we solve problems others consider impossible.

About the role You will take technical leadership of PiezoMotor and own the product roadmap, driving the development of our next-generation platform. You will work closely with customers – understanding their needs, building trust, and guiding them toward the right solutions. You will have real influence over the composition of the engineering team from day one – recruiting and building the team around you as the company grows. The position is part of the management team. We are looking for someone with a long-term mindset. The role is based in Uppsala, though working from Stockholm is also an option.

We are looking for someone with

• Deep understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and how machining methods, surface treatment, and design affect properties at component and system level
• Experience with multi-axis positioning systems – thermal properties, control system cycle times vs. real-time positioning, and the distinctions between accuracy, precision, and repeatability
• The ability to untangle multi-dimensional problems and shift perspective fluidly: near/far, detail/big picture, supplier/customer
• Several years of CAD-driven design of precision mechanics, special-purpose machinery, or instruments (we work with SolidWorks)
• Solid understanding of electronics, programming, and communication protocols
• Confidence in customer-facing situations – you understand that technical decisions must make business sense, and that both the sales case and the production case need to hold up over time
• Excellent English, spoken and written, is a requirement. Swedish is a strong advantage.
