Lead Connected Car Engineer

Scope of Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Key Lead Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and integration of Digital Key features and Digital Key certification processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in system engineering and a thorough understanding of CCC (Car Connectivity Consortium) standards, enabling them to deliver secure and scalable solutions for next-generation vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle of the Digital Key ecosystem, including design, implementation, integration, testing, and validation.

• Design and develop a secure, efficient, and scalable Digital Key framework to enhance user experience and meet automotive industry standards

• Oversee the implementation of cryptographic systems and certificate-based authentication to ensure data security and access control.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, software engineering, and hardware integration teams, to ensure alignment on project goals.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Digital Key features with other vehicle systems, such as infotainment and telematics.

• Ensure all Digital Key features meet CCC standards and participate in the certification process to achieve interoperability and security benchmarks.

• Lead the end-to-end design of certification processes for compliance with CCC standards.

• Lead the discussions for the development of a secure and scalable cloud-based DK backend.

• Lead the validation of the digital key feature.

• Create technical architecture, documents, compliance reports and specifications for system wide implementation.

• Lead the discussion on DVP, DFMEAs and organize technical reviews.

Knowledge/Experience

• 10+ years of experience in automotive connectivity, embedded systems, or mobile security.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

• Extensive experience in system engineering, with a proven track record of delivering secure and efficient solutions for connected vehicles.

• Experience integrating digital key systems with vehicle ECUs and mobile devices.

• Experience in CCC Digital Key Certification process and platform-specific standard (Apple CarKey, Android Digital Key) certifications.

• Expertise in CCC Digital Key standards, including implementations involving BLE, NFC, and UWB.

• Strong knowledge of cryptographic protocols and certificate-based authentication systems.

• Proficiency in programming languages like C++, Python, or Java, and experience with embedded systems.

• Experience in CAN /Lin/ Ethernet / MQTT / HTTP protocols

• Familiarity with automotive standards like ISO 26262, ISO 14229 and AUTOSAR

• Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and manage relationships with OEMs and suppliers.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Digital Key implementation.

• Familiarity with mobile OS architectures (iOS & Android) and OEM automotive systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ISO 21434 (Automotive Cybersecurity) and UNECE WP.29 regulations.

• Knowledge of V2X communication and smart mobility ecosystems.

• Hands-on experience with RF testing, signal integrity, and performance optimization.

• Background in HID, smart access solutions.

• Experience on Peps module design and development.
