Your Role

The Associate Security & Fraud Analyst supports the Security & Fraud Operations function by assisting with day to day monitoring, investigation, and response to security and fraud related events.

The role focuses on developing foundational skills across security operations, incident handling, threat awareness, and fraud investigation while contributing to the protection of organisational systems, data, and customers.

This position is designed as an entry level pathway into cyber security and fraud operations, with close mentoring and structured development.

  • Receive and respond to routine requests for security support under supervision.
  • Assist with day to day monitoring for unusual or suspicious activities across security tooling.
  • Triage low to medium risk alerts and escalate incidents in line with documented procedures.
  • Support the response to security threats, attacks, and similar events, including assisting with investigations of suspected security breaches.
  • Maintain accurate records of alerts, incidents, and actions taken in case management systems.
  • Document incident and event information and assist in producing incident, exception, and management reports.
  • Collaborate with other members of the security team to support the development of protocols, controls, and defensive measures.
  • Undertake low complexity, routine vulnerability assessments using automated and semi-automated tools.
  • Contribute to documenting assessment scope and evaluating vulnerability scan results.
  • Support remediation tracking and reporting activities.
  • Perform routine threat and fraud intelligence gathering tasks as directed.
  • Assist in transforming collected information into formats suitable for operational security activities.
  • Clean, normalise, and convert quantitative information into consistent formats.
  • Assist with the review of actual or potential fraudulent behaviour.
  • Support fraud investigations in accordance with established procedures.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk fraud matters to senior team members.

Your Experience

  • Interest in cyber security, fraud prevention, or technology risk.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to follow procedures and document work clearly.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to learn and take feedback.
  • Tertiary qualification (or currently studying) in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Criminology, or a related discipline (desirable)
  • Exposure to security operations, SOC environments, or fraud monitoring (through study, internships, or entry-level roles) (desirable)
  • Basic understanding of security concepts such as phishing, malware, account compromise, and fraud schemes (desirable)
  • Build foundational capability across security monitoring, incident response, and fraud investigation.
  • Progressively take ownership of low-to-medium complexity cases.
  • Complete agreed training and certifications as part of the development plan.
  • Demonstrate behaviours aligned with confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
