UX Design Manager

Purpose

Responsible for supporting and managing the design system. This role ensures that all digital products maintain a cohesive visual and interactive experience across various platforms. Collaborates with UX designers, UI designers, developers, and product teams to ensure consistent usage of components, patterns, and design guidelines while promoting scalability and efficiency in design and development processes. Regularly updates the design system and supports the governance run by the Executive Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Design System Support - Assist in managing the design system including commissioning, decommissioning components, documentation.
• Collaboration With Teams - Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and developers to ensure design system is well understood and effectively used.
• Documentation & Governance - Establish and maintain documentation for the design system, including usage guidelines, component libraries, and visual standards. Ensure that documentation is regularly updated to reflect changes and improvements.
• Consistency & Alignment - Ensure consistent application of design elements and components across products by regularly auditing and updating the design system based on feedback and new requirements.
• Training & Onboarding - Support or provide training and onboarding for teams using the design system, ensuring stakeholders are informed about updates and best practices for using the system efficiently.
• Feedback Integration & Continuous Improvement - Gather and integrate feedback from designers, developers, and stakeholders to improve and evolve the design system to meet future business and design needs.
• Scalability & Efficiency - Ensure that the design system enables scalability and efficiency by streamlining the design and development process, reducing redundancy, and accelerating time-to-market.

Qualifications:

• At least 4-6 years of experience in interaction design, UI, Design system management or a related field, with experience managing or supporting design system creation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Frontify and Token Studio. Familiarity with front-end development frameworks and technologies, including HTML/CSS, and component-based systems such as React or Angular.
• Strong knowledge of design systems, component libraries, and atomic design principles. Excellent organizational and documentation skills with the ability to maintain design system standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
• Experience in managing and evolving design systems in response to user feedback and product changes. Familiarity with design tokens, theming, and responsive design principles.
• Multilingual knowledge, with a preference for proficiency in Arabic.
