Senior Go Backend Engineer – Mobile Security (Contract)

Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Go Backend Engineer to join a high-impact Mobile Security team responsible for protecting mobile applications at scale.

This team delivers a suite of security components and services—including penetration testing, obfuscation, and consultancy—to ensure a strong and proactive security posture across mobile platforms.

You’ll play a key role in building secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems, enabling mobile engineering teams to innovate confidently in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure, enterprise-grade Go applications
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
• Work with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure solutions
• Optimise backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability
• Contribute to architecture decisions and best practices
• Enhance system observability and monitoring using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace
• Support security initiatives across mobile platforms

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong experience developing secure, scalable applications in Go
• Solid understanding of:
• REST APIs
• Microservices architecture
• Containerisation technologies
• Hands-on experience with:
• Docker & Kubernetes
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience implementing DevOps practices:
• Infrastructure as Code
• CI/CD pipelines
• Deployment strategies
• Strong grasp of:
• Coding best practices
• Agile development
• Continuous delivery
• Experience in performance tuning and optimisation
• Familiarity with observability tools such as:
• Splunk
• Dynatrace
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Java development
• Knowledge of cryptography frameworks (Go and/or Java)
• Experience with SQL databases
