PCB Design Engineer - Leuven (Belgium) - Permanent Position

We're currently recruiting a talented and experienced PCB Design Engineer. As a PCB Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for a variety of electronic devices and systems. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, firmware engineers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the successful design, testing, and manufacturing of PCBs that meet the required specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • PCB Design: Design and develop multilayer PCBs, considering factors such as layout, routing, signal integrity, power distribution, thermal management, and manufacturability.
  • Schematic Capture: Create schematic diagrams using CAD tools, ensuring accurate representation of circuitry and connectivity.
  • Component Selection: Work with engineering teams to select appropriate components for the PCB design, considering factors such as functionality, availability, cost, and reliability.
  • Signal Integrity Analysis: Perform signal integrity analysis, including impedance matching, signal timing, and noise reduction techniques to ensure robust performance of high-speed digital and analog circuits.
  • EMC/EMI Compliance: Design PCBs to comply with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) standards, minimizing interference and emissions.
  • Prototype Development: Support the development of PCB prototypes, including layout debugging, prototype assembly, and testing.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, firmware engineers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of PCB designs into overall product architecture.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, layout files, design guidelines, and design validation reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in PCB design and manufacturing, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in PCB design and layout, preferably in a product development environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of PCB design principles, including high-speed digital and analog circuits, power distribution, and thermal management.
  • Experience with signal integrity analysis tools such as HyperLynx or similar.
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI compliance standards and mitigation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and professional development.

The Offer:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement in a dynamic and collaborative environment
  • Access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources for innovation and research
