Back End Developer

Job: - Backend Developer (NodeJS/Java) (Australian Citizen Only)

Duration: -12 months (Hybrid)

Location: - Brisbane QLD, Canberra ACT, Melbourne VIC, Adelaide SA and Sydney, NSW

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer for a long-term contract with one of our Federal Govt Client with strong experience with programming languages like Java, Ruby, PHP and Python

Required Skills

• 2+ years work experience as a Back-End Develop
• Demonstrated experience in microservices and reactive programming patterns
• Hands on experience with programming languages like Java, Ruby, PHP and Python
• Experience with RESTful API development and standards
• Demonstrated experience in MongoDB, DB2, Postgres and Node JS
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process in an agile environment and SecDevOps practices and principles
• Infrastructure-As-Code practices and principles

Responsibilities

• Create software and technical designs for the realisation of complex development solutions
• Develop high quality code and long-term maintenance of a product's code base
• Provide technical advice on software development and maintenance
• Perform a range of analysis, design, software development, prototyping, unit testing and maintenance activities
• Undertake analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation with proposed solutions
• Manage and prioritise own and others' workloads to meet business objectives in specified timeframes

Visa Status and Security Clearance

• Candidates must be able to obtain Baseline Clearance

Contract Details

• Experience level: - APS6 equivalent
• Estimated Start Date: - Wednesday, 01 July 2026
• Working arrangements: - (Hybrid) Initially from the office for first 6 weeks before a hybrid flexible working arrangement will be considered. WFH arrangements are usually a minimum of 3 days/week onsite.
• Contract length 12 months with up to a maximum of 24 months potential extensions
