In this dynamic role, you will lead efforts to implement and enhance technical controls aligned with the Australian Cyber Security Centre's (ACSC) Essential 8 framework, ensuring our organisation stays ahead of evolving cyber threats. Your expertise will help us uphold the highest standards of security, compliance, and risk management across all departments.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in system or cyber security administration
• Hands-on expertise with security frameworks, especially ACSC Essential 8
• Experience with implementing and configuring security technologies, particularly Microsoft-based solutions
• Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and vulnerability management
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in documenting security processes and configurations

Nice to Have Skills:

• Familiarity with broader security standards and frameworks
• Experience with security incident response and threat detection
• Knowledge of software development security practices
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft Security certifications

Preferred Education and Experience:

• A degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in security administration or a similar role

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently as needed
• Willingness to engage in continuous learning to keep up with evolving security trends and technologies
• Relevant security certifications are desirable
