Systems & Regulatory Engineer – Architecture & Concept

Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Systems & Regulatory Engineer to strengthen our Architecture & Concept organization.
Scope of Role
As a Systems & Regulatory Engineer, you will work within the Architecture & Concept area, responsible for defining and supporting the overall architecture and concepts for next‑generation centralized computing platforms that host software‑driven functions and features in modern vehicles.
You will be part of a cross‑functional team working closely with Systems Engineers, Concept Engineers, and Safety Engineers. The team drives improvements and enables solutions related to product structure, conceptual drivers, regulatory compliance, safety, and governance.
A core responsibility in this role is to structure and manage requirements models and to handle regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance across different markets. Due to the regulatory scope, the role requires broad technical understanding across multiple domains and close collaboration across R&D organizations.
The position can be based in Gothenburg or Lund, with the ability to travel occasionally between locations, as the team is distributed across both sites.
Responsibilities
- Structure, manage, and continuously improve the requirements model across system, software, and hardware domains
- Manage and interpret regulatory and legal requirements applicable across multiple markets
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure regulatory and system requirements are correctly implemented and governed
- Improve and develop enabling tools and methods supporting product architecture and system development
- Contribute system and regulatory expertise across technical areas such as: Execution environment, Communication and networking, Software updates, Logging and diagnostics, Calibration and vehicle timing, Functional safety and cybersecurity
- Support governance, compliance tracking, and decision‑making related to system and regulatory topics
- Work closely with system, concept, and safety engineers to align architecture, design, and compliance
- Collaborate across the Core System Platform and other R&D organizations to ensure alignment and transparency
Knowledge / Experience
- Strong experience in systems engineering, including both embedded software and hardware
- Extensive experience in requirements engineering, including:
- Structured requirement models
- System, software (SW), and hardware (HW) perspectives
- Risk management
- Strong understanding of regulatory and legal requirements, including:
- Interpretation of legal texts
- Application of regulations across different markets
- Interaction with regulatory authorities
- Good knowledge of system safety engineering, safety standards, and product safety
- Master’s degree (MSc) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken
- Self‑motivated and able to drive initiatives independently
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent collaboration and communication capabilities
- Structured, meticulous, and methodical working style
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and solution‑oriented mindset, with high professional integrity
