Our client a leading insurance provider across Belgium, is looking for a Freelance Java Developer.
The role :
- Develop new and maintain/adapt/improve existing IT applications on demand of the business by programming independently in a stipulated programming language.
- Support BAU projects.
- collaborate with other team members.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to and validate functional analysis and specifications
- Realise IT projects, conduct code reviews, and follow release management
- Develop or adapt programs in line with standards
- Test developments before user testing
- Document realizations
- Maintain and improve applications
- Handle tickets and correct bugs
- Analyze root causes and propose solutions
- Maintain documentation • Support business users
- Define and measure availability levels
- Elaborate support procedures and reporting
- Collaborate with IT and business teams
- Report status and contribute to meetings
- Participate in permanences when required
Required experience:
- Junior: 2+ years, Senior: 5+ years
- Java 7/8/11/17, Spring - MS SQL Server - Glassfish, Wildfly - ActiveMQ / OpenMQ
- Montova ESB - SOAP / RMI / REST - ReactJS, Redux, ES6 - Backend: C#, JSON, XML
- Linux/Unix basics - JEE, ehCache - Maven, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket
- Jira, BuildMaster, Octopus - Kubernetes, Docker (optional) - SoapUI, Eclipse/IntelliJ, SSMS
- ReadyAPI
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Security protocols and best practices
Soft skills:
- Motivated team player

- Handle pressure and deadlines
- Structured, Agile/Scrum oriented
- Ownership mindset
- Certification is a plus
