Data Analyst – SQL / PowerBI

You’ll be joining one of Australia’s Big 4 banks, a market‑leading financial services organisation with a strong focus on data, analytics and digital transformation. This role sits within a mature analytics function delivering critical insights across key banking portfolios.

Your new role

As a Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality data analysis and insights to support strategic decision‑making. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, lead complex data investigations, and help shape best practice across data quality and reporting processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing complex SQL queries to analyse large, enterprise‑scale datasets
• Working extensively with Teradata data warehouse environments
• Leading data quality, reconciliation and validation activities across multiple data sources
• Translating business requirements into clear analytical outputs and recommendations
• Providing subject matter expertise and mentoring junior analysts where required
• Supporting regulatory, risk, finance or performance reporting initiatives
• Engaging with senior business and technology stakeholders across the bank

You will be a seasoned data professional with:

• Strong experience as a Data Analyst within large, complex organisations
• Advanced SQL capability, including performance tuning and complex logic
• Solid understanding of data warehousing, data models and enterprise reporting
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders
• Banking or financial services experience (highly regarded)
